Homemade Body Butter/Lotion

I had found a recipe a few years ago for homemade body butter/lotion. I ABSOLUTELY love it!!! Just a few ingredients and it lasts a very long time. The old saying…”A little goes a long way”….This is so true with this stuff…What you need is 1 C Shea Butter, 1/2 C Almond Oil, 1/2 C Coconut Oil, Lavender EO and Vitamin E Oil. Everything I purchased on Amazon….

First measure out Shea Butter and Coconut Oil and put into double broiler. Since I didn’t have one, I made my own with a pot of boiling water, glass bowl and a knife or fork…You want to let the steam come out…

Keep an eye on it and stir until melted. Once melted, set a side for 30 minutes to cool down some. Once it cools some add Almond Oil, Vitamin E oil (as much or as little as you want) and the Lavender EO (I added 30 drops and still only has a very faint scent to it).

Once everything is mixed up, it needs to cool. I left mine sit out on the counter until it started to solidify…I have seen others put it outside in the snow, others put in the freezer…either way, be careful…if it solidifies to much, it wont set properly.

This one actually solidified to much…:( and I don’t have a picture of it sitting out to solidify…Sorry guys 😦 After it does, break up some with a knife and then start mixing with your mixer…

It is amazing to me how it went from just a solid to this beautiful fluffy looking “icing”…Scoop into jars and seal. I put mine in the fridge for an hour, removed and its never been back in the fridge and never turned back to oil. If yours turns out too “runny” its ok to leave in the fridge…NOW, as much oil that is in there, I would have thought it would have been terribly oily but its not….Not in the slightest…it goes on oily but dries fast and leaves your skin silky smooth…I absolutely love this stuff!!!
