Homemade mouthwash

I am always concerned that I have bad breath. Not being able to smell I would always carry gum around with me or buy the expensive mouthwash and use it daily. I decided tonight that since I am learning to be self sustainable and more self sufficent, I needed to learn to make my own not only to save money but to kick out those nasty chemicals that are in store bought mouthwashes. So I found an easy recipe online (HERE) and these are the ingredients I used…

  • small mason jar
  • ½ cup filtered or distilled water
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 drops tea tree essential oil
  • 2 drops peppermint essential oil

This is the easiest recipe I’ve ever done…Mix ingredients in mason jar and stir to make sure everything is mixed well. The I use one of those small shot glass red solo cups..Pour into cup, swish around in your mouth for a minute and spit out. I actually tried this tonight and it does taste better than normal mouth wash. I think this is a winner!!!
