The 1st cranberry butter that I tried called for 2 bags of cranberries, one orange, 1 1/2 cups of Maple syrup, 1 cup of water and 2 sticks of cinnamon. Put everything but the orange into a crockpot. Take your pealer and peal the orange skin off the orange, put into crockpot as well. Remove all the white part of the orange and put oranges slices in with everything else. Let cook 4-6 hrs. Remove orange peals and cinnamon. Use immersion blender and blend. Ladel remaining cranberry sauce into strainer and press all the juice out into a pan. Heat all your jars and lids. Heat cranberry sauce/juice just till boiling and then ladel into jars. Seal and water bath for 15 min. For me, this was a bit to tangy/tart…so I added maybe 1/2 a cup of sugar. From what I read, this is good with goat cheese.
